One wrong turn and its Shangrila- Ranjit Sagar Dam district. Pathankot.

Ranjit Sagar Dam-on the Ravi river is one of the highest earth fill dams in India. It is a multi-purpose dam generating hydroelectricity and catering to irrigation of Punjab

Each one of PashaTuks travels follows this special trait without which each travel remains incomplete. We always take one wrong turn and end up exploring tracks uncharted and unspoiled by human degradation. These vistas of Ranjit Sagar Dam in Pathankot district happened to us on the way to Mcleodganj from Jammu, when in an effort to take a short cut from the main road, we turned a turn earlier than expected and carry back with us images to the mind that would last a lifetime.

the blue of the water had us spellbound and speechless through the entire journey

.The security check at the Dam made us realize how close we were to the border with our "friendly neighbors"  as the car was stripped inside out and we were exposed to what intense cross questioning by the security forces were. But the vistas more than amply made up for the minor discomforts at the check post.
